Backend Engineer

Come help us build the metaverse! This position centers around design, development, and deployment of critical infrastructure, data systems, core APIs, micro-services, and the frameworks which various other engineering teams will come to rely upon. Development of mission
critical backend applications is a major facet of responsibilities. This includes but is not limited to working with existing codebase to enhance features, building new services, extending current APIs, collaborating with technology partners, mentoring junior developers, as well as maintaining effective documentation. We are a remote team, so effective and constructive communication is an essential part of our team culture.

Experience:

• College or Graduate level degree is preferred
• 3-5 years of nodejs development required
• 2-5 years of NoSQL experience required
• 2 years of GraphQL and REST based API development experience required

Proficiencies:

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Ability to decipher technical challenges and outline technical tasks
• Ability to reduce, summarize and report issues to management
• Web application security, authentication and authorization experience (OAuth, JWT, etc...)
• Working knowledge of Linux systems, networking, and administration
• Working knowledge of GIT and GIT flow
• Experience with test driven development
• Familiar with multiple caching and optimization techniques
• Effective documentation and information dissemination skills
• Knowledge of Database ORM and data modeling concepts is preferred
• Kubernetes experience is a plus
• Experience with containers and container deployments is a plus
